Terms of Service
Website & Service Usage Terms · Last updated: June 2026
1. General Terms
This Terms and Conditions page from Network Consultancy (“NetCon”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) sets out the clear, professional rules for our technical services, security architecture, and infrastructure management.
Agreeing to these terms establishes a legal contract between your business and Network Consultancy, granting you access to our engineering portals and onsite consulting.
Please read this document carefully before allowing our team to access your corporate infrastructure. In addition to our core engineering services, this page outlines website usage rules, intellectual property safety, and liability limits.
2. Definition of Key Infrastructure Terms
To maintain operational precision, technical network terms are used frequently throughout these clauses.
- Firewall Configuration: The specific ruleset that determines what traffic is allowed into or out of your business network.
- Network Segmentation: Dividing a company network into smaller, isolated zones to keep security threats from spreading between departments.
- VPN (Virtual Private Network): A secure, encrypted tunnel that lets remote staff connect safely to your office servers.
- MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication): A security step requiring two or more verification proofs before granting access to network apps.
- Malware and Ransomware: Malicious software designed by criminals to lock files, steal intellectual property, or disrupt corporate systems.
- Perimeter Defense: The combination of hardware and software tools guarding the boundary between your private network and public internet.
- Static IP Allocation: Assigning a fixed, unchangeable digital address to a specific corporate server, printer, or office router.
- Technical Provisioning: The act of setting up, licensing, and configuring hardware or software systems for operational use.
- Infrastructure Metadata: Operational routing tables, MAC addresses, and equipment logs that show how data moves through your network.
- Service Level Agreement (SLA): A formal commitment specifying the network uptime targets, response speeds, and engineering support timelines guaranteed.
- Data Controller: The organisation that decides how and why any personal or corporate information is processed and stored.
3. Introduction and Corporate Identity
3.1. Network Consultancy is a trade-focused network security provider incorporated in England and Wales. We provide certified B2B engineering services, custom routing design, and active perimeter management to corporate entities, contractors, and regional businesses.
3.2. Our engineering operations, remote monitoring services, and client portals are managed in full compliance with UK commercial regulations, statutory data laws, and trade frameworks.
3.3. By signing a service quote, issuing a corporate purchase order, or allowing our engineers to begin work on your systems, you enter into a legally binding agreement governed exclusively by English law.
3.4. Our primary responsibility is ensuring your firewalls and network partitions meet modern corporate security baselines. We keep our technical certifications and corporate registrations transparent so B2B clients can verify our qualifications at any time.
4. Application of Conditions and Quoting
4.1. These General Terms apply to all business dealings between Network Consultancy and the customer. They completely exclude any external terms or conditions that a client tries to impose via a purchase order, trade custom, or past course of dealing, unless explicitly agreed by us in writing.
4.2. Any product descriptions, sample network maps, or illustrative documentation on our website are for approximation purposes only. They do not form a binding part of any final engineering contract.
4.3. Any typographical, clerical, or administrative error in a quote, invoice, or support ticket is subject to immediate correction by Network Consultancy without liability.
4.4. An official purchase order or digital approval of a quote constitutes a formal offer by the Customer to buy our services. The contract is officially formed only when Network Consultancy issues a written order confirmation or begins active provisioning work.
5. Fees, Currency Fluctuations, and Invoicing
5.1. All service fees are quoted exclusive of VAT, local taxes, import duties, or hardware shipping costs, which remain the sole financial responsibility of the Customer.
5.2. Network Consultancy sources specialised routing hardware, firewall units, and software licenses internationally. Because wholesale costs shift, quotes are calculated using daily foreign exchange benchmarks.
| Data Category | Validity Period | Pricing Adjustment Rule |
|---|---|---|
| Standard Service Quote | Valid until the final business day of the issue month. | Fixed for that calendar month unless hardware supply costs shift sharply. |
| International Hardware Orders | Illustrative only until contract formation. | Recalculated on the business day the contract forms, based on current conversion rates. |
| Out-of-Scope Support Requests | Subject to current engineering standard rates. | Charged hourly if work falls outside your explicit monthly service package. |
6. What We Deliver and Our Limits
6.1. Good network security is a strong shield, but it is never a total guarantee against hackers. We build firewalls using current best choices, but no system is completely safe from every new threat.
6.2. Remote engineering has clear, practical limits that your team needs to understand when opening a support ticket.
| Support Stage | What It Is called | What Our Engineers Actually Do |
|---|---|---|
| Stage 1 | Remote Analysis | We log into the portal to scan data traffic, check settings, and find software faults. |
| Stage 2 | On-site Engineering | If the link is dead because a router is physically broken or unplugged, an engineer must go to the site. |
| Stage 3 | System Rollback | If a new update creates operational clashes, we wipe it and reload your last stable backup. |
7. Cancellations and Service Pauses
7.1. Monthly monitoring contracts run on a rolling monthly or annual timeline, depending on what is written on your signed order sheet.
7.2. Under UK business-to-business laws, standard 14-day consumer change-of-mind rights do not apply to these corporate contracts once we start configuring your systems.
| How You Stop the Contract | Notice Needed | What You Still Owe |
|---|---|---|
| Normal Cancellation | 30 days written notice before the next bill date. | You must pay all accrued service fees right up to the final shut-down day. |
| Emergency Pause | Immediate action by us if rules are broken. | You stay liable for all work completed up to the second we stop the service. |
| Friendly Agreement | Signed off by directors from both companies. | Settle the final bill based on the exact setup steps finished before the stop hour. |
8. Ownership of Intellectual Property
8.1. Network Consultancy owns every piece of content on our website and portals. This includes text, custom firewall setup scripts, dashboard designs, logos, and layout styles.
8.2. We give your business a limited, personal license to use our custom-written firewall rules and network maps for your daily business use only.
8.3. You are not allowed to copy, change, resell, or reverse-engineer any custom setup templates or code created by our engineering team.
8.4. If you use or copy our technical blueprints on unauthorised networks, we will cancel your contract immediately and we may take legal action to protect our business property.
9. Responsibility for Business Risks and Losses
9.1. Network Consultancy sets up your systems based strictly on the layout maps and data provided by your own company staff.
9.2. Nothing in these rules attempts to dodge responsibility for death or personal injury caused by proven negligence, deliberate fraud, or anything else required by English law.
9.3. Network Consultancy is not responsible for your financial losses, stolen files, ransomware costs, or lost profits if they are caused by:
- Outdated or wrong network details given to us by your staff or third-party contractors.
- Hidden security backdoors or old security holes left unpatched in your own hardware.
- Your employees turning off multi-factor authentication or ignoring active security alerts.
9.4. The maximum amount of money Network Consultancy will ever pay for any combined claims under this contract is strictly capped at the total amount you paid us during that specific project or service month.
10. Changes to These Rules
10.1. Network Consultancy can update these terms at any time to deal with new data laws, changing hacker methods, or corporate service updates.
10.2. Any new version will be put straight on this website page and starts working the moment it is posted.
10.3. It is your job to check this page now and then. Continuing to use our portals, engineering help, or firewalls means you agree to the updated rules.
11. How to Get in Touch
11.1. Network Consultancy will send updates to your chosen project managers using the business emails and phone numbers you gave us when onboarding.
